The Addis Ababa City Administration Investment Commission recently hosted an Investment Forum, bringing together business owners and industry representatives to discuss investment opportunities and challenges. During this event, Mrs. Aster Solomon, President of the Addis Ababa Hotels Association, was elected as the Secretary of the Investment Forum Committee.

Speaking at the forum, Commissioner Girma Seyfu emphasized the importance of collaboration between investors across various industries. He highlighted that integrating business associations into the forum would help address challenges collectively, making it easier for them to participate and contribute to the investment landscape.

The newly elected committee members will work closely with the Investment Commission to prepare essential policy documents and strategies for the forum. Commissioner Girma Seyfu reassured that the commission would provide the necessary support to ensure a smooth and effective process. He also underscored the key role of business associations in driving economic growth and creating a more favorable investment environment.

The forum focused on identifying and solving key investment challenges, such as access to workspace, infrastructure development, and foreign exchange issues. Rather than merely discussing these problems, the goal was to foster collaborative solutions among stakeholders. Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Mesay Mersha stressed the importance of structured forums like this in finding practical solutions for private sector investment challenges.

At the end of the discussion, participants had the opportunity to ask questions and share their feedback. Afterward, the Investment Forum Committee was officially formed, with the following elected members:
